Moong beans are small, green beans that belong to the legume family. Moong beans are incredibly versatile and are typically eaten in salad, soup, and stir-fry.


Sprouting is basically a process where seeds and legumes are germinated and eventually eaten raw. When seeds are soaked in water for a certain period of time, they germinate, causing their outer layers to tear open and allowing a young shoot to blossom. Sprouted grains, legumes, and beans are believed to be very nutritious and healthy.

Sprouts Salad Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sprouted moong beans

  • 1 medium carrot, finely chopped

  • ½ medium cucumber, finely chopped

  • 1 medium tomato, finely chopped

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • ¼ medium radish, finely chopped

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • Little roasted peanuts (optional)

  • Rock salt to taste

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder

  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala (optional)

  • Coriander leaves and lemon slices for garnishing



Moong sprouts salad is a very easy, tasty as well as a very healthy salad recipe.


How to make Sprouts Salad?

  1. First you have to sprout the Moong beans

  2. Once the Moong sprouts is ready, rinse them in water

  3. Add 1 cup Moong sprouts in a big bowl or vessel

  4. Add finely chopped carrot, cucumber, tomato, onion, and radish

  5. Next, add roasted peanuts (optional)

  6. Then add a little black pepper powder and ½ teaspoon chaat masala (optional)

  7. Mix all the ingredients properly

  8. Lastly, season with salt and squeeze ½ lemon. Mix well

  9. Garnish with Coriander leaves

  10. Serve Moong Sprout Salad with few lemon wedges
