Recipe for Ragi Smoothie / Ambali:


  • 2 spoon Ragi Flour

  • 250 ml Water

  • 250 ml Buttermilk

  • Himalayan Pink Salt to taste

  • Little Grated Ginger (optional)

  • Little Fresh Black Pepper Powder (optional)

How to make Ragi Smoothie / Ambali:

  1. Add 2 spoon of ragi flour to a bowl

  2. Add ½ cup water and briskly mix well

  3. Keep a vessel on a stove and add the remaining water to it

  4. Boil the water on a high flame

  5. Remember that the vessel bottom should be thick otherwise, the ragi flour will get stick to the vessel base & burn.

  6. After water gets boiled, turn the gas on low flame

  7. Add the Ragi flour paste to the boiling water

  8. Continuously stir until it is slightly thickened and looks like porridge

  9. Turn off the gas and set it aside for 5 minutes to cool down

  10. In a blender/ juicer, add cooked ragi porridge, 250 ml of buttermilk, Himalayan pink salt to taste, little grated ginger, and fresh black pepper powder - little

  11. Blend well everything together till smooth

  12. Transfer to a glass, garnish with cumin powder and coriander leaves

  13. Serve as a breakfast smoothie
